Installing Git on Linux

For Debian/Ubuntu based distributions:

  1. Open a terminal.

  2. Update your package index:

    sudo apt update
  3. Install Git:

    sudo apt install git

For Fedora:

  1. Open a terminal.

  2. Install Git using:

    sudo dnf install git

For Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or CentOS:

  1. Open a terminal.

  2. Install Git using:

    sudo yum install git

For Arch Linux:

  1. Open a terminal.

  2. Install Git using: sudo pacman -S git
